ABOUT


  SME-UCEN, Society of Mechanical Engineers-UCEN, Nagercoil aims to play a pivotal role in the development of students as engineers by various Cocurricular and extra-curricular activities. SME-UCEN aims to inculcate among its members an awareness and appreciation of the various disciplines of not just Mechanical Engineering but also other relevant fields. By way of its activities AME-UCEN aims to be a platform for all the students of UCEN in general and particularly of the students at UCEN which promotes their career interests.

Activities during the year 2013-2014:

  1. One day National Workshop on Applications of CFD in Engineering was organized by SME-UCEN on 18-10-2013. It aims for promoting and facilitating an effective and optimal use of CFD and it provides training opportunities to Mechanical Engineering students in CFD software packages. The workshop was conducted by Dr.S.Joseph Sekhar, Prof/Principal, St.Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil.
  2. Planned to conduct a one day National Conference on "Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering" on 21-03-2014.
  3. one day International workshop on "Emerging Research(ETER'16)" was organized by department of mechanical engineering on February 2016. It aims for promoting and encouraging the young researchers in the field of energy technology. Prof.Alberto Coronos, Director, University Rovierai Virgili, Spain and Prof.R.Saravanan, Director, R & AC Division Anna University, Chennai delivered the guest lecture about the energy efficient technologies and appreciations. This workshop was Convened by Dr.M.Edwin, HOD/Mech, Dr.U.Arunachalam, AP/Mech, and M.S. Starvin, AP/Mech.
